Osmose Field Liner ... enhanced barrier protection for wood poles

The Osmose Field Liner is designed to be an inexpensive and environmentally preferable way to increase pole service life and prevent preservative migration and depletion.

What is barrier protection?

Wood structures exposed to weathering - the combination of moisture, oxygen and moderate temperatures- require protection from nature's biodegradation process. For centuries, preservation has been accomplished by coating or impregnating wood with chemical preservatives, which prevent wood fiber to be used as a food source by fungi and insects. Barrier protection works by eliminating direct contact between wood fiber and the ground, thereby denying access by termites and wood destroying fungi.

Suggested Field Liner applications:

Field Liners are easy to install by line crews immediately prior to setting the pole. Field Liners are conveniently packaged so that they take up little space in a line truck.

• Transmission poles
• Poles to be set in pavement or with multiple risers
• Poles in high-risk decay or termite regions
• Poles in storage more than 1 year
• Relocated or reclaimed poles
