Innovation to upgrade pole strength

 

In-service wood poles may need additional capacity due to overloading or the need to storm-harden a system. The ET-Truss is "extended and tapered", and engineered to increase bending capacity of in-service wood poles, while costing a third or less of replacement costs.

  

 

 

Capacity can increase by three or more classes

 

By installing the ET-Truss, bending capacity of a wood pole can increase by one, two, three or even more classes. This provides a cost-saving option that can help you manage system reliability and cost.

 

 

Tested and evaluated nationwide

 

The ET-Truss has been tested by Osmose and evaluated by pole owners nationwide for practicality and strength. Individual components and features have also been tested. Details and results of the testing are available on request.

  

 

 

Efficient and seamless installation

 

In most cases, a line can remain energized during installation of the ET-Truss so there is no interruption of electric service. The actual equipment design and installation method is streamlined so that up to six or seven ET-Trusses can be installed in a day. The integrity of the system is restored, service to the customer is seamless, and the pole load capacity is increased.
