Foreman Position Description
 
All Foreman candidates will be hired into the company as a trainee. The training will include both classroom and field time. Candidates will also be tested on all material. The length of training depends on the position.

Responsibilities: As a Foreman (Pole Inspection & Treatment, Pole Restoration, Data Services, or other services), the following duties must be performed. These duties may vary in accordance with the service provided:
  1. Perform contract work according to specifications.
  2. Maintain a full crew and work full weeks.
  3. Effectively manage the crew for maximum safety, acceptable quality and highest production.
  4. Maintain good customer and public relations.
  5. Submit all required administrative paperwork and field reports on schedule.
  6. Maintain accuracy of paperwork and/or computer input.
  7. Conduct weekly safety / quality meetings and monitor work practices for safety and quality workmanship.
  8. Responsible for all activities of the crew on-the-job when under the Foreman's supervision.
  9. Responsible for maintenance and the safe operation of a company vehicle.

Eligibility: The following eligibility requirements must be met prior to promotion to the position of Foreman:
  1. Be recommended for promotion to the level of Foreman by the Training Foreman and Hiring & Recruiting Coordinator (or Job Supervisor).
  2. Successfully complete all aspects of a 3 – 8 week Foreman Training Program. The length of training is dependent on the position.

Performance Standards: The following standards are used for the purposes of evaluating job performance, consideration for promotion, pay rate increases and separation of employment:
  1. Must be able to comprehend and demonstrate the ability to perform all responsibilities of a Foreman after a reasonable period of time.
  2. Maintain all tools, vehicles and equipment at an acceptable and reasonable level.
  3. Required to relocate from one job location to another when necessary.
  4. Must demonstrate an ability to hire, train and supervise a team of Crew Members.
  5. Achieve expected Safety, Quality, Production, Cost Control and Crew Management goals.
