Preservative Pastes &  Pole Bandages

Preservative pastes are designed to protect the outer shell of in-service utility poles from fungal decay and insect attack.  Pastes are applied to the pole by brush.  Brush-on application allows the treatment to be properly applied to irregular surfaces, which are often present in older in-service poles after external decay has been removed, around obstructions such as conduit, and to poles set in uneven terrain.   Osmose offers two preservative pastes: MP400-EXTTM and COP-R-PLASTICTM II.

MP400-EXTTM

This unique preservative system is the first and only commercial paste formulation that combines four industry proven biocides to deliver broad-spectrum control of wood-destroying decay fungi and insects.

Independent testing has shown MP400-EXT treated wood to exhibit exceptional biocidal properties against wood decay fungi and insects with minimal chemical loadings. MP400-EXT exhibits low toxicity characteristics favorable to the applicator and the environment and is currently the only remedial paste on the market that has been classified as Toxicity Category III with the EPA signal word of "CAUTION" on the label.

COP-R-PLASTICTM II

COP-R-PLASTIC II uses a combination of sodium fluoride and oil-borne copper naphthenate to provide protection against decay and insects.  The copper naphthenate protects the outer 1/4" to 1/2" of the pole's shell while the sodium fluoride diffuses into the wood (penetrating up to 3" depending on pole species), helping to protect the vulnerable sapwood and the critical load-bearing portion of the pole.

Pole WrapTM - Pole Bandage

Pole Wrap is a highly-effective preservative bandage designed to protect poles against decay at the critical groundline area.  The combination of sodium fluoride (a water soluble preservative that penetrates deeply into the wood) and fiberglass matting makes for a dry, clean, easy-to-use bandage.
