FireGuard™ Case Study
The summer of 2008 will be remembered in California and the Pacific Northwest for the wildfires that destroyed thousands of acres of vegetation along with homes and businesses. Transmission lines are often located in areas that are susceptible to wildfires. Osmose FireGuard is designed to protect poles from the ravages of wildfires and it has proven its effectiveness time and again.

The transmision line shown in these pictures is located in Washington State and suffered a fire that was described as an "80 foot wall of flame" by the chief engineer of the utility. The flames were so intense that in some cases the cross arms burned and fell to the ground.

To protect your poles with FireGuard contact your local Osmose representative or call the Osmose Products Center at 716-319-3420.

Osmose FireGuard helped protect these poles from failing. Although they may need minor repair above grade, these poles will be able to remian in service, saving the pole owner many thousands of dollars for replacement costs and down time.
FireGuard protection is offered as a turnkey Osmose service or you may order material and apply it with your own crews. It is available in both brush-on or spray versions.
